Pokemon Sun and Moon interested in competitive breeding will need several 4 IV Dittos and a few items. Here are some quick guides on how to raise the perfect Pokemon.
Start Breeding Dittos
Pokemon Sun and Moon players will first need to start breeding Dittos, according to Reddit user LezardValeth. Make sure to breed at least 2 to 3 Dittos that have some of the maximum IVs of the species you intend to raise. Afterwards, breed a new Ditto that will have the maximum level of the remaining IV for the opposite gender of your intended species. Pokemon Sun and Moon Trainers should make sure to utilize the Destiny Knot and Power Items on the parent species that have the perfect IVs. Interestingly, some trainers use 5 or 6 IV Dittos in order to improve their breeding chances but this will take time and the improvement is not that great according to some veterans.
Always Improve Pokemon Stock
Once the parent species are ready, Pokemon Sun and Moon trainers can now begin raising Pokemon. Hidden ability could also be added if one its parent has it. To improve your chances of getting a better Pokemon, always change the parents once they sired a better offspring.
When To Use Everstone
Pokemon Sun and Moon trainers who managed to breed a quadflawless Pokemon may disregard the power items and start using the Everstone for some nature corrections. If the Pokemon does not have the necessary nature, trainers will have to raise another Ditto to get the right natured Pokemon.
Breeding a Pentaflawless Pokemon
Raising a 4 IV Pokemon is an accomplishment but producing a 5 IV Pokemon is even better. Just keep partnering 4 IV Pokemon parents with no duplicate IVs in order to improve your chances of acquiring a 5 IV Pokemon. Once Pokemon Sun and Moon trainers get their first pentaflawless Pokemon more of its kind will soon follow.
