One of the teams that hold the best record in the current NBA season is the Golden State Warriors. They are 16-2 and they have won their last 12 games. The warriors are definitely in contention for the NBA championship next year. However, this did not stop NBA trade rumors from including Stephen Curry in the milieu.
Curry Will Be Eligible For A Massive Five-Year Contract
Why would Curry leave a successful team like the Warriors in which he has an important part to play? Well, for Curry, the answer to that question is a bit complicated. According to ESPN, the point guard is eligible for a $165 million maximum five-year contract after the NBA 2016 to 2017 season. This is probably the reason why Curry is also included in these NBA trade rumors.
Admittedly, Curry is one of the NBA players who richly deserve this type of humongous deal. But there is no NBA player who can resist this type of deal. Some NBA trade rumors also say it is very likely that Curry and Kevin Durant will enter the free agency state the following offseason. This could result in a changing of the guards for the Warriors. But a lot will depend on the results of the current season.
The Sixers Are Thinking Of Moving Three Big Men
In a related note, it seems that the Philadelphia Sixers are again the subject of a number of NBA trade rumors. It seems the team is planning to move some of their big men soon before the deadline. Nerlens Noel, Jahlil Okafor, and Joel Embid are the names being allegedly traded by the Sixers.
Some say Noel is the most vulnerable of the three since he has been battling injury issues. A team which chooses to get him will have to hope that he will fully recover. Or else, they might be exchanging a valuable team member in their current roster for a player who can't improve their team.
