There are NBA trade rumors that seem to indicate that the New York Knicks are thinking of making a long-term commitment with their recent acquisition, Derrick Rose. It appears that Rose has really filled the void in the team's point guard slot. Rumors have circulated in the league that the Knicks are offering him a contract extension this early.
Is Rose The Knicks' Long-Term Solution?
These NBA trade rumors suggest that Rose might be the Knicks long-term solution to their lead guard problem. The team's expectations were very high when they acquired Rose from the Chicago Bulls last summer. Having Rose on its roster, the team can now boast of an NBA MVP. Although he has suffered and recovered from several knee injuries, he is now showing signs of his exceptional basketball skills of the past.
With the Knicks, Rose has to learn new skills to jell with his new teammates. He has been effective playing with Pau Gasol and Jimmy Butler of the Bulls last season, But now, he's got Carmelo Anthony and Porzingis who have different styles of play than his former teammates. His current performance though is enough for the Knicks to see his potential in the team. Therefore, these NBA trade rumors say that they are offering him a contract extension.
The Wizards Are Thinking Of Moving Six Players
Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards are also the subject of NBA trade rumors. It appears that they are shaking up their roster. Some media outlets even speculated that as many as six players are being placed on the trading block. The team's performance since the season opener has been lackluster, at 6 to 10.
These NBA trade rumors suggest that Ernie Grunfield, the Wizards president, who incidentally is in his last contract year, wants to revamp their lineup to increase the team's chances of getting to the playoffs. This feat will also help him keep his job. Rumors are rife that he would like to move rookies such as Daniel Ochefu, Sheldon McClellan and Danuel House, Jr. Veterans Otto Porter, Jr., Andrew Nicholson, and Trey Burke are also included in the alleged trade.
