Nina Dobrev seems to have a full plate at the moment as she sets out to promote her upcoming action movie "xXx: Return Of Xander Cage." With her hectic schedule, is she leaving "The Vampire Diaries" behind?
Recently, rumors are rife that Nina Dobrev is no longer interested in being part of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 now that she has a bigger project on hand. Dobrev landed the role of Rebecca "Becky" Clearidge in the forthcoming "xXx: Return Of Xander Cage" movie.
The 27-year-old brunette is currently caught up with her hectic schedule in promoting "xXx: Return Of Xander Cage." In fact, Dobrev has been out of the country recently, traveling overseas to promote the flick with co-stars Vin Diesel and Michael Bisping. This led to speculations that the actress may have already forgotten about "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 and is no longer interested in reprising her role.
Rumors about Dobrev's lost of interest in the latest installment of "The Vampire Diaries" came after the lack of confirmation of her comeback even at this point when the new season already started. According to reports, Dobrev eventually became tired of waiting after going back-and-forth to the series' producers about her possible return.
In addition, Dobrev reportedly wants to focus on big screen projects. Is this the reason why she now dodges press questions about "The Vampire Diaries?" This might serve true as the actress made a bold statement in an interview at the American Music Awards.
When asked if she will be reprising her role as Elena in the hit series "The Vampire Diaries," Dobrev answered with a smirk, "That's a very good question, you should ask the producers, you should ask the powers that be above."
So far it remains unclear whether or not Nina Dobrev would return in "The Vampire Diaries." However, one thing is certain, the gorgeous actress will be making her big screen appearance in "xXx: Return Of Xander Cage" scheduled to premiere on January 20, 2017.
