Bill Gates made up for his questionable Secret Santa gifts from previous years year. Big time.
Reddit user Arrex had the surprise of her life when a box arrived on her doorstep courtesy of FedEx. The package from Gates was delivered on Dec. 16 and Arrex and the rest of her brood, which included a husband and a dog, have been surely ecstatic ever since.
What was in the box?
- Xbox One S Minecraft Edition
- NES Classic Edition
- Three XBox One S controllers
- Halo 5 Guardians Limited Edition
- Rise of the Tomb Raider
- One year of Xbox Live
- A picture of Gates adorned with a Christmas hat
- A Link and Zelda picture frame with a photo of the Redditor, her husband, her dog and Gates who photoshopped himself in
Gates also made a donation in Arrex's name to code.org.
In 2014, Gates gifts to Reddit user Calid7 was a Loki helmet which the woman actually wished for. She also got a picture book of Africa and a stuffed polio virus microbe. Gates also donated to Shot@Life in her name.
The year prior, Gates gifted Reddit user Rachel with a stuffed cow. The stuffed toy was actually a representation of Gates' donation in her name of a real cow to Heifer International. The tech industry legend also gave her a National Geography book titled "Journeys of a Lifetime".
The Secret Santa gift exchange program started in 2009 and hundreds of thousands of people have already spread cheers and goodwill to each other. Among those people are celebrities such as Snoop Dogg, former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and retired NBA star Shaquille O'Neal.
Gates is actually not the only one who has given out weird gifts. O'Neal once gave a Redditor a framed and autographed photo of himself. Shaq also gave mjolnir79 a Star Wars pop-up book and Count of Monte Cristo cards. Rapper Snoop Dogg gave Redditor Erin, as part of this year's Secret Santa, a T-shirt, slippers, scented candle, green tea, socks and a drone. Schwarzenegger once gave a hand-drawn picture of a cat and a donation in the Redditor's name to an after-school program.
