The Microsoft Surface Phone May Still Be Non-existent

The Microsoft Surface Phone may have already been rumored a ton of times. However, up to now, the company hasn't confirmed its existence yet. This means that the supposed Surface Phone's status is still uncertain. It may or may not exist. This puts anticipating fans in a complex state. Should they be waiting for the said device, or should they forget it once and for all and simply buy another phone? Is the Surface Phone really coming in or not? As of now, the safe answer is that unless Microsoft confirms anything, the rumored Surface Phone cannot be considered a thing.

The Microsoft Surface Phone has been a rumor for some time now. However, there are still a number of reasons why it hasn't come to the market yet. Here are some:

Microsoft May Not Be Ready Yet

One of the possible reasons why the said Surface Phone hasn't come to existence is that Microsoft hasn't polished it yet. The consistent rumors about the phone's specs could actually root from facts because how else could these rumors come to surface without having sources? Nevertheless, the said phone may still be unprepared to face the market and Microsoft still need to do some polishing before releasing it into the wild.

The only statement the company has shared about their next smartphone is that the device will still be focused on a specific market with specific needs. Although Microsoft didn't elaborate further on this, it's safe to say that they won't be going for the same target market as the iPhone and Galaxy's. As per Forbes, the company said that their next smartphone won't be molded by today's trend so it's easy to assume that their next smartphone, whatever its name will be, will once again be business-oriented. With that said, this phone will be high-powered and could come with PC-level specs. This also means that this device is complex and needs so much time to complete.

The Market Isn't Ready Yet

Another reason why Microsoft isn't releasing the said Surface Phone is because the market may not be ready for it just yet. Meaning, the large majority of the smartphone market may still be patronizing the mainstream kinds of flagships like Apple's, Samsung's, LG's and more. With that said, it is critical for Microsoft to not release a business-oriented phone at a time when pop-culture smartphones are still the kings of the market.

The company is at risk of being in another Lumia-incident if the timing of their release isn't right. The latest Lumia flagships are uber-competitive specs-wise and they are certainly aimed towards the business-class considering their PC-level features. However, despite that, the said Lumia devices didn't really make it as big as its direct competitions. With that said, it's safe to say that Microsoft could also be thinking about whether or not their next smartphone will hit it big.

The company has been a well-established business so we can say that its next steps are always well thought of. With that said, fans just need to trust the company's decisions and hope for the best. The Surface Phone may or may not come to existence but let's just be comforted by the fact that Microsoft has already stated that it isn't backing out from the smartphone industry.
