South-Korean firm LG Electronics has announced its plan to unveil a new 'magical' speaker. What we know is that the Bluetooth speaker is called PJ9 and it can float in the air. LG will showcase its new speaker immediately in Las Vegas at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017.
The speaker will provide 360-degree of sound, allowing audio to blast equally in all directions. above a magnetic woofer station. However, LG is not the first to put forth a magnetically floating speaker. It is merely joining the bandwagon which includes the Wassertein SciFi Speaker, Crazybaby Mars, ICEORB Floating Bluetooth speaker, and the Maglev Bluetooth Speaker.
The PJ9 speaker is reportedly waterproof with an IPX7 rating which means when submerged in water at a depth of less than a meter (about 3.3 feet) for 30 minutes. Users can now freely bring the gadget to swimming pools, bathtubs, and camping sites.
The PJ9 speaker's battery life will also be able to continuously run for 10 hours. When the floating speaker runs out of juice, it will slowly descend upon the center of the station and begin its wireless charging. LG says that it is the perfect alternative for people looking for portable Bluetooth speakers that can be used for various outdoor activities like camping.
"The eye-catching design will take the Bluetooth speaker industry by storm," says Seo Young-jae, vice president at LG Electronics' convergence audio and video (CAV) business division. The new speaker sports a simple egg-shaped form while above the cylindrical woofer station. Glossy White will be an available color option.
The speaker will also have two passive radiators. This means that LG users can have a more balanced bass and mid-range sound.
