Overwatch Update: Roadhog Being Nerfed As Blizzard Tweaks One Of Its Powerful Moves

One of the most popular characters in Overwatch is Roadhog. However, there are some players that have taken advantage one of his many strongest moves. He is, at present, capable of hooking other players and pulling them towards him, thus he is inflicting damage to them through up close and personal attacks. Blizzard is observing this intense move, and they are going to be modifying it to see how it truly works.

Blizzard made an explanation about their thoughts in changing the character. In the first place, the hook victim will be moving to the position that will directly move to Roadhog's front instead of just moving in a straight line towards him. There is a limit on how far to the side can one player be pulled. It is for the reason that you can avoid just hooking someone, spin 180, and then dump some person on a cliff. This aspect will be able to make the hook feel more consistent, especially when where the location of the victims being pulled is the main concern.

Second, the line-of-sight check function can now be examined from Roadhog's position, instead of the hook's position. This function can be used to check if a hook should connect or not. It only means that the hook can't connect to targets that cannot be seen by the Roadhog.

Lastly, a new persistent line-of-sight check that leads back to Roadhog once the hook will land. The failure of this check will result to the hook breaking off and returning to Roadhog. It only means that once the player got hooked and moved out of LOS, the hook will break earlier and it will not pull the target, as reported by Attack of the Fan Boy. The developers stated that these changes will be available to the PTR within just a short period of time, maybe earlier this week.
