Symmetra has undergone through some recent rework, and it has officially been out in its servers while making her character a good pick for Offense and Defense team. Her reworks has led to the downside of her character, thus making it difficult for players in both Quick and Competitive Plays to use her against other players due to her strength and versatility. In her current build, she still needs a minor nerf despite her overall strength just to have her return into her bearable conditions for the purpose of the future Overwatch update.
Overwatch developers made a huge change regarding Symmetra's skill kit and they also buffed her. After the rework, Symmetra has transformed from being a situational Defense team character into a versatile character for Defense and Offense teams. As a result, these buffs made her strong enough to win fights with the Offense and Tank character. There is also a good Sentry placement that was added to her dueling strength, which can help make harder chokepoints for their enemy team to breach.
Symmetras's ultimate can become a Teleporter, and this can be used to fastly transport allies. It can also be a Shield Generator that can continually give a wide shield health for a certain area. Symmetra's rework has provided an ideal combination of defensive, offensive, and utility advantage for any of the team who may have her, as reported by The Bit Bag. However despite all of these strengths, players cannot be overpowered by Symmetra if they will utilize some defensive formations, as well as through effectively countering turrets by respecting her.
Symmetra's increased capacity in this present Overwatch build is a good reason for players to pick her as their game character. Before, Symmetra was only capable of providing zone denial through her turrets as well as giving a hand to her teammates so that they can move faster throughout the map. Because of her reworks and buffs, she is now capable of placing a six turret chokepoint setup that causes heavy damages on a single target.
