iPal Companion Robot

According to Venture Beat, AvatarMind is showing off its iPal robot during CES 2017, at the Family and Technology Marketplace at the Sands Expo. Social robots have become trendy in the past few years and now they are making their entrance at CES. The iPal Companion Robot designed by AvatarMind aims to be an entertaining and educational friend for children and to take care of elderly people.

The robot can navigate a maze, dance, sing and interact with people. iPal will start shipping in China in the first quarter of 2017 and will also be available in the U.S. later in the year. CES attendees are among the first to get hands-on experience with the new iPal robot at Booth #44754, at the iPal Playground. Kids and adults alike can enjoy a sneak preview of the robot before its 2017 launch.

iPal's Features

According to Broadway World, iPal can provide hours of education, entertainment, and play, while encouraging an interest in science and technology and fostering social growth. iPal's educational programs provide tablet-based content to supplement classroom curricula, age-appropriate interactive learning, and fun and give kids a head start in school.

The companion robot is perfectly child-sized, at 3.5 feet tall. Children can physically interact with a moving robot. The talking capabilities of the machine come complete with contextually appropriate responses. Parents can use iPal to keep an eye on caregivers and children, with its built-in camera and WiFi/Bluetooth connectivity. They can even interact and talk with their children remotely.

iPal also allows children to chat with friends and share videos without worry, enabling safe social media access for them. According to John Ostrem, CEO of AvatarMind, iPal can provide a much richer experience for children compared just to sitting in front of a screen or TV and make the everyday lives of parents a little easier.
