Overwatch hero Roadhog is one of the top favorites in the game. Players who want to play Roadhog will need to master the art of hooking their enemy.
Roadhog's Fearsome Reputation
There's a reason why Roadhog is one of the top hogs or dogs in Overwatch. He is a tank character which means plenty of HP and at the same time heal himself. The Hog can also deal lots of damage to enemies while using the hook to take them out of hiding. It is therefore imperative for Roadhog players to be proficient with their hook catching techniques.
Time Your Hook Attack
The first thing a Roadhog player must master is timing the hook attack, according to a video presenter. Extend your character's hand completely to let the hook fly off. Make sure to keep your crosshair within the enemy's hitbox of your target.
Two Ways To Improve Your Hook Aim
There are two ways to improve Roadhog's hook accuracy. One of them is the Prediction method. As the name implies, you had to guess the movement of your opponent. This is doable for some Overwatch players but not all. Most of the high ranking ones can move randomly which makes them unpredictable.
The second and more practicable method is Consistent Tracking. This requires you though to maintain a crosshair lock at your opponent. This means that even if the enemy's move is random, you can still get them with the hook. Try lowering the mouse sensitivity. You also need to coordinate your arm with movement of your mouse. Once you get the hang of it, start hooking up with your enemies.
Take note though, that Roadhog's hook still has some inconsistencies. Blizzard though is currently applying changes to the character. Unfortunately, the tank hero may also receive some nerf during the process. For now, it's still too early to tell how the changes will affect his hook.
