‘Paragon’ Unviels New Character Serath; Available Next Week

Epic Games has just revealed a new update for “Paragon” with the release of a new playable character. The video game welcomes the arrival of the new fighter, Serath. The said character comes with a whole new attitude and set of skills that will surely make enemies run for their lives.

Just yesterday, “Paragon” dropped its latest teaser trailer unveiling an update to the said video game. A new female melee-focused carry-type character named Serath will be joining the growing roster of playable heroes and will be made available on Jan. 10 for free. Though the said video game is still in its open beta version, Epic Games has promised that it will be releasing new characters every three weeks since their number of characters in their lineup has not been confirmed yet.

Serath is described in the teaser trailer as femme fatale who walks the light but houses darkness in her heart. This could be the most concise and fitting explanation for her since there is more to her than what meets the eye. Aside from donning good looks, that heavy armor she wears and the ordinary-looking mace she wields is not just for show.

Apparently, Serath packs quite a set of skill that can parry other characters. Epic Games has introduced her four skills and they all look like they are going to devastatingly hurt. Despite her looking like the Phoenix when she transforms, as shown in the trailer, she actually does not have any healing skills but instead possesses fire abilities as well as holy ones.

Serath’s default attack is Chastise that deals heavy damage to enemies once slow is applied and also cleaves enemies within her range. This attack can be used by pressing R1 button. Aside from her mace attacks, she deal damage to multiple enemies why flying.

Her Heaven’s Fury attack is enabled when she hovers over an enemy to deliver a deadly slash. Though this attack is slow and has enough delay between moves, Serath is invincible during this time. This ability can be activated by pressing the square button.

Another flying skill that Serath has is the Ascend ability, which can be activated by pressing the circle button, enabling her to go mid-air at a fair distance and then swoops down at targets to deal damage as she maneuvers her path while being above the ground. Her dark alterego comes out with her Heresy attack by pressing the triangle button. The Heresy allows Serath’s dark side to take over her and all the aforementioned skills will be incorporated with the burn effect that deals damage to targets and even creates an aura that weakens nearby enemies.

Epic Games initially released “Paragon” as an early access in March 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows, which players actually had to pay for if they wanted to play the said game. A few months later, sometime in August of the same year, the said developer finally unveiled an open beta that was free to play. “Paragon” was designed as a third-person multiplayer online battle arena video game but the developer aims to give players more in-game creative freedom.
