After a long time since Omocat initiated a Kickstarter fund project for “Omori”, it has finally updated its fans and backers this year with a new announcement. It has finally revealed its first new trailer for “Omori” and aside from that, the development team has revealed what they have been doing with the said game all this time.
Omocat wanted to give “Omori” the green light, hence they turned to Kickstarter to draw funds with a pledged goal of $22,000 to finally start the development. But there were a lot of good Samaritans and a whole lot more that saw that the project could head on to higher levels. The Kickstarter fund for “Omori” currently has already pledged $203,300 from 5,910 backers.
With the surprising number of backing Omocat received, they have decided to make use of the funds and bring “Omori” to better platforms. The trailer they revealed, which was a couple of days after New Year, finally showed more of the game, which included more cutscenes and gameplay cloaked in a vivid yet bizarre 2D world. After reaching more than $180,000 in Kickstarter, Omocat has announced that the video game will also be available on Nintendo 3DS aside from its PC and Mac port versions. If they reach $250,000 then the said video game will also be heading to PlayStation Vita.
Omocat introduced “Omori” as a surreal horror video game that centers on the main character named Omori, who was an extreme introvert that was comfortable only within his home and lived happily with just his laptop, immersing himself within his online blog from December 2011 to March 2012. Somehow, he wakes up one day remembering something important yet he can’t point his finger on to.
“Omori” is an extraordinary horror role playing video game that has a turn-based combat system. Players can visit several dungeons, take on side quests and mini games, and even get to know the stories of in-game non-playable characters. “Omori” was set to release in May 2015 but it seems like that won’t push through with all the new developments so Omocat has yet to announce the official release date.
