2017 will see the release of the highly awaited sequel to Marvel's 2014 hit, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," and Telltale Games seems to be joining in on the hype, because it is now working on a game based on the Galaxy's favorite band of space bandits. A supposed synopsis of the game has been leaked online, and it looks like Star-Lord and his gang have found themselves wrapped up with another powerful artifact,
According to Game Fragger, the synopsis was revealed online after the game went on the listing for Gamestop. The synopsis is as follows: "In the wake of an epic battle, the Guardians discover an artifact of unspeakable power. Each of the Guardians has a reason to desire this relic, as does a ruthless enemy who is the last of her kind, and who will stop at nothing to tear it from their hands."
Some have pointed out that this information should be taken with a grain of salt because retailer listing usually come from the seller and not the developers themselves - some of them being notoriously inaccurate. But all in all, the story seems to be in vein with what people could expect from a "Guardians of the Galaxy" game.
Nevertheless, players should expect the game to feature characters Gamora, Drax, Rocket, Groot and Star-Lord. Some even suggest that Star-Lord will be the main playable character as the others are more of NPCs for the game. As the teaser suggests, Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy will also feature a 70s inspired soundtrack. Not to mention, the game is said to come with the same blend of humor that made the movie a surprise hit.
Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy is said to be coming in five parts, and rumors have suggested that the game could be coming out April 25 of this year. Hopefully all the episodes will be playable before "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" comes out on May 5.
