Nokia released its first lineup of Windows Phone 8 (WP8)-powered devices, including the Lumia 920 and the Lumia 820 in November 2012 and now rumors indicate that the flagship Windows phone for the company is on its way. A recent leaked picture along with the specifications shows what could be the next Windows flagship for Nokia, the Lumia 950.
"This image above of an alleged Nokia Lumia 950 prototype landed in our email box a little while ago and included some interesting details about the supposed forthcoming device," reports WPCentral.
WPCentral adds: "From our initial assessment, the phone itself looks legitimate but there are some questionable discrepancies like the Windows Phone logo/button area (more on that below), odd aliasing that's either a sign of compositing or over sharpening. And as iMore's Rene Ritchie told us, this could be a 3D model photographed from a screen (which are notoriously hard to prove false)."
The report shows only one leaked image and as such, it is difficult to say if the leaked picture is legit or a fake.
According to WPCentral, the Lumia 950 will have a 1280 x 768 pixels resolution and there is no planned 1080P support for WP8 in the immediate future. Previous rumors indicated that the next Nokia Windows flagship will have a 41-megapixel rear-facing camera but according to WPCentral, the Lumia 950 won't have such a camera feature.
The Lumia 950 is also expected to have 2GB of RAM. No other hardware specifications are known about the Lumia 950 and we will have to wait until more information is leaked or Nokia confirms more specifications of the handset.
Nokia Lumia 920 is one of the best-selling WP8 smartphones around and smartphone users will hope for the Lumia 950 to be a step ahead. We will have to wait and see if Nokia is able to deploy its best in the Lumia 950 and attracts more customers to the handset.
