Mario Kart is definitely one of the more popular games to feature Nintendo's favorite mustachioed plumber, and news has it that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Though it won't come out on the March release date, it will be available on April 28.
According to iDigitalTimes, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will include all the DLC that came with the Wii U version of the game, and it will also allow up to eight players in total. Players will now also be able to wield two items during a race, so players don't have to instantly use the (dreaded) blue turtle shell in order to get their hands on more weapons.
Polygon also reports that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will have classic Mario characters coming to the Kart game, and they are Dry Bones, Bowser Junior and King Boo. Inkling Boy and Inkling Girl from Splatoon will also be playable in the game.
Speaking of returning elements, the Deluxe version will also have two items returning to the racetrack. The Feather weapon, which lets players do a high jump during battle mode, will be making a comeback. Boo will also be making a return. Picking him up will let players steal items from other players.
There is also news that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will also come with a Smart Steering feature for the more novice players of the game. This will keep newer players on the track and make them avoid skidding off to the sides. If Mario Kart was anything, it was always inclusive of almost anyone, seasoned or novice gamers alike.
Mario Kart is probably one of the more popular games to ever come out for Nintendo. Other than the playability factor, the game has also pioneered in a racing genre that adds more fun and whimsy to races. It's hard to imagine a Nintendo console without Mario Kart.
The Nintendo Switch may be releasing on March 3, but Mario Kart Deluxe will have to catch up as it comes out on April 28.
