Beyonce released a six-second YouTube teaser video Wednesday, wearing the infamous cyborg glove also seen in her video Single Ladies. The short video shows Mrs. Carter aka Sasha Fierce standing in a loft-like dance studio wearing a mesh top and leather shorts, accented with the cyborg glove, hand jewelry.
A jump-cut flashes a brief close-up of Beyonce's face across the screen before delivering the final message. The text "4.4.2013 9AM EDT #BeyHereNow" comes across the screen. So what's going to happen on April 4 at 9 AM? We can only speculate at this time, but the date indicates it's something pretty special. April 4 isn't just an ordinary day for the "Bow Down" singer. Beyonce and her husband Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary on April 4.
Beyonce's recently leaked track "Bow Down" received harsh criticism and sparked controversy. Former bandmate and close friend Kelly Rowland defended the track during a recent interview on Shade 45 radio with DJ Drama.
"She is an artist. She is allowed to express herself however she wants and I think that there's nothing wrong with that," Rowland said.
"I also know, because that is my sister, I have heard everything else on the record. I'm just excited for what she has in store for her fans. I think that's what's so beautiful about B is she always wants to make sure she has something special for her fans and I can't wait till they hear all of that," Rowland said.
Fans speculate that the teaser trailer means that perhaps Beyonce may release a new song or maybe announce her next studio album. When the chrome cyborg glove appears, we know that her alter ego "Sasha Fierce" is present and whatever the announcement is, it's probably major.
