It was not too long ago when Nintendo assured its fans that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will not be a Switch launch title exclusive since it will also be made available for the Wii. The revelation of the game's release date was followed up by a tweet that this RPG will also be released on the same date for the Wii U. At present, Nintendo continues to announce that those fans who opted to buy the game's disc version for the Wii during its release date will be tasked to download a 3GB worth of game data.
As reported by Game Rant, Japan Nintendo's page made this reveal about the game, and they have emphasized that those who will purchase Link's latest adventure on the Wii U are required to install a 3GB amount of information. However, there is no latest confirmation about the contents of this Wii U version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Gamers who want to get The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild can just download the digital version of the game instead of actually buying the physical disc version for the Wii U. It has to be noted that the digital iteration for Breath of the Wild on Wii U truly needs a great amount of data as compared to the information that can be found on-disc since it will be needing a 13GB space in the hard drive.
Fans should consider the file size also if they are planning on transferring from the Wii U into Switch especially for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. For those who are actually taking the option of having the game on Switch, they would need to have a lot of available space since Breath of the Wild can actually consume almost half of Switch's hard drive capacity. The game is 13.4GB and the system has 32GB capacity only.
