Here's Why You Don't Need The Switch To Enjoy Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

One of the most anticipated games for the Switch is the latest installment of the Zelda franchise, Breath of the Wild.Although it was first rumored to be a Switch exclusive, after the unveiling of the handheld-console hybrid, Nintendo confirms that the action-adventure video game will also be released on Nintendo Wii U on the exact same date. Today, we're going to tackle about the actual difference of Breath of the Wild when played between the two platforms and why you don't need the Switch to enjoy the latest installment of the franchise.

Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild: Switch vs Wii U

Upon the announcement of Breath of the Wild's release on the Wii U, many are wondering, "what's the difference?" Well, after a couple of game reviews went live, it turns out that it's not that much. Aside from the small margin of 180 pixels and somewhat improved sound quality, there isn't much of a disparity between the two platforms. As shown in the review video by GameXplain, the team has contrasted the two versions of Breath of the Wild on the two platforms. Here are the highlights:

The Switch will offer 900p on TV while the Wii U version is locked at 720p
Switch offers more detailed environmental sounds
Different button icons between the two versions

You can clearly see the trifling difference between the two versions and that the Wii U can still run the game quite well - just as smooth as the Switch does. Moreover, the two Breath of the Wild variants are locked at 30 FPS. The only difference outside of what were mentioned is the fact that only the Switch offers the Special and Master Editions of the game. (These contain physical collectibles, etc.)

In other news, Nintendo has lowered the recommended retail price of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild by £10 due to the number of criticisms that the company has received over its UK pricing strategy. Following the announcement, numerous retails, including Amazon, have now dropped the price of the game.

At the time of this writing, only The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has made a price drop while the other upcoming Switch titles remain as is. Whether or not the other titles will follow through still remains unanswered. But we may be seeing another price drops since it'll be ironic that their most prominent title would cost a lot less than the minor ones.
