Samsung has already taken the wraps off its latest flagship Android smartphone, the Galaxy S4, and now millions of smartphone buyers are keenly waiting to lay their hands on the smartphone. Many Canadian carriers have already started pre-registration for the Galaxy S4 and now WIND Mobile has also come on board to take pre-registrations for the handset.
Samsung did not announce an official release date for the Galaxy S4 and has left potential customers wondering when the smartphone will be available to order. The Korean company has announced the latest Galaxy S4 will be available on 327 carriers in 155 countries. WIND Mobile is one of the Canadian carriers who will offer the handset and has started taking pre-registrations of the phone.
"The Samsung GALAXY S 4 will be available Q2 in Canada from Bell, Eastlink, Fido, Koodo, Mobilicity, Rogers, SaskTel, TELUS, Videotron, Virgin Mobile and Wind Mobile and their authorized channels. Further details will be released closer to Canadian availability," notes Samsung Canada. The only carrier missing from the list is MTS in Manitoba.
Pre-registration on the carrier does not guarantee the Galaxy S4 on its release date and does not mean you can pre-order the Galaxy S4 when it's available on the network but it means that you will get updates regarding availability, pricing and more. A confirmed date for the handset's release is not known but market observers believe that the handset will release on April 26.
The Galaxy S4 is undoubtedly one of the most-anticipated smartphones in 2013 and the smartphone bundles high-end features many smartphone lovers want to grab. Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy S4 will release in both 3G and 4G LTE-ready versions. Depending on your region, you can expect Samsung's next flagship to sport a 1.6GHz Exynos octa-core CPU or a 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600. As with the U.S. version of the Galaxy S4, the Canadian version of the handset may also have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor.
None of the carriers has hinted at a price for the Galaxy S4 but the device is expected to have a price range of $199 to $299 on a three-year contract.
