Indian smartphone buyers looking to buy a top-end handset may have a reason to be happy, as a recent report indicates the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S4 may be available in India after April 25.
Samsung recently took the wraps off the highly-anticipated Galaxy S4 and announced that the device will be available across 155 countries. The company did not reveal specific release dates for different parts of the world but it seems that India will be one of the first countries to get the smartphone.
"The much-awaited Samsung Galaxy S4 is likely to be launched in India on April 25, however the phone will be available in stores from April 27, said a source with knowledge of the Galaxy S4 launch plans in India. He also said that the phone will be available for under Rs 40,000, while its MRP will be around Rs 42,000," reports IBMLive.
The Galaxy S4 is expected to debut on April 26 in the U.S. and Canada, which is just a day before when Samsung plans to release the device in India.
The India-bound version of the Galaxy S4 will come with Exynos 5 Octa Processor, while other countries like Korea, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Germany, United Kingdom and Hong Kong are expected to receive both quad-core and octa-core variants.
The Galaxy S4 packs top-end specifications like a 5-inch Super AMOLED display capable of delivering a 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution at 441 pixels per inch (ppi). Other features include a 2600 mAh battery, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and GPS.
On paper, the Galaxy S4 definitely has all features that are needed in a top-end phone but we will have to wait for the final verdict after the smartphone starts getting in the hands of smartphone users.
Usually, smartphone makers have released top-end smartphones in western countries, followed with a slightly late launch in India, so if rumors are to be believed, then Indian customers will be able to get the taste of the latest Galaxy S4 sooner than expected.
