Following a monster performance by Boston Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas, NBA 2K17 tweeted on Thursday to show their gratitude for his astonishing rise to stardom. The 5-foot-9 point guard appreciates the love however, he expressed an issue he encountered in the popular video game.
According to the report from NESN, Thomas does have a legit reason to object. Aside from his excellent performance from the three point line, he had also shown his ability to drive and score in the paint for countless of times. Based on his reply to NBA 2K17's tweet, Thomas said that he wants his virtual self's performance realistic and even points out its current inability to shoot in the paint.
Meanwhile, it is possible that Isaiah Thomas is getting used to getting undervalued. However, he continues to prove his doubters wrong by continuing to provide quality performance each outing. Thomas is currently ranked fourth in the NBA in scoring this season averaging 28.7 Points per game.
With this current era, several NBA players draw motivation through their current NBA 2K ratings. For instance, Miami Heat Center Hassan Whiteside started just by trying to raise his 2K ratings up. As a result, he now becomes one of the league's solid rim protector.
In the game of mostly heights, Isaiah Thomas is expected to be undervalued at first due to his size but that does not stop him from dominating and currently, he finds a slight motivation through his NBA 2K rating.
For those who are unfamiliar, NBA 2K ratings are maxed out of 100, while the best players in the world will be rated 99. Players such as Michael Jordan and LeBron James are obviously at 99 range. On the other hand, Stephen Curry was given a perfect 100 last year due to its unbelievable performance.
For Thomas, receiving a low rating is a slight disappointment considering his recent monster performances. However, it will be adjusted any time soon since 2K is actively dropping roster updates with updated ratings from time to time.
