It looks like fans would be able to see Adam in Genoa City soon. Former Adam Newman actor Michael Muhney spilled the beans on his possible rehire on "The Young and the Restless" in a recent interview. He also talked about the sudden departure from the show three years ago.
With Justin Hartley's exit for "This is Us," Adam's character was killed in an explosion complete with DNA test to prove his death. However, news of the character's return has been circulating on the internet. In an interview with "The Peloton Brief Podcast," Muhney discussed his possible comeback in "The Young and the Restless"
"My people are trying to talk to the right people. I want to go back to Y&R," Muhney said according to Celebrity Dirty Laundry. He added that he is in touch with several members of "The Young and the Restless" cast and they is all encouraging him saying they would love to have him back on the show.
Meanwhile, Muhney also talked about his departure from the show. He said he made mistakes, grew bitter about his character and his ego was to blame for his departure. He started to say: "I am gonna leave or you have to push me out the door or something has to change." However, after six months the production decided to let him go.
He also denied the rumors about sexual harassment which was allegedly the reason behind his departure. "This rumor disgusted me. I have a daughter. I never would do that," he said. He added that people mistake him as gay on set because he never hit on girls.
He further revealed that he hired private investigators and found out that a random blogger started the rumor. "The rumor was started by some woman in Florida," Muhney said according to Showbiz411. There were no official charges of sexual harassment filed against him.
Adam's return could shake Genoa City upside down. There are speculations that his comeback would finally reveal Christian's paternity. There is also the budding attraction between his wife, Chelsea and his brother, Nick, which would certainly bring some conflict to "The Young and the Restless."
