With Donald Trump officially in office, fans are expecting for more parodies involving the 45th President of the United States and his government. However, it looks like "South Park" season 21 will be void of anything about US politics. "South Park" creators revealed they would back off mocking trump and "everybody in the government."
But why? Because apparently, Trump's government is funnier than any comedy they could think of. In a recent interview, South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone revealed that making parodies on the US politics is going to be more difficult.
Stone revealed that many people are saying that they must have gotten many good materials with all the circus going on after Trump's win. However, the comedic Trump government might not be good for the series. "We're having our head blown off like everybody else," Stone said according to Entertainment Weekly.
Parker went on to explain that in South Park Season 20, they tried to keep up with what's going on in the heat of the Presidential elections but can't. Everything that's happening, in reality, is funnier than any parody they could think of. "They're already going out and doing the comedy. It's not something you can make fun of," Parker said. "So we decided to just back off and let [politicians] do their comedy and we'll do ours."
The US elections was a big part of "South Park" season 20 according to Cinema Blend. The show tackled the Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton debate. In the election week, "South Park" completely changed an episode to suit with Trump's surprise win in the episode titled "Oh, Jeez."
Comedy Central announced last July 2015 that "South Park" is slated up to season 23. Even with Trump and the US government out of the picture, there are so much to anticipate for "South Park" season 21. Previous reports revealed a Hollywood A-lister would be gracing an episode next season. "South Park" season 21 is expected to air in September.
