It took six whole seasons before we got what we are waiting for -- Stiles and Lydia are officially a couple. No "I love you" needed from Lydia, it was sealed with a passionate kiss. However, what awaits the character in "Teen Wolf" season 6B especially now that the original wolf crew plus Malia are going off to college? "Teen Wolf" executive producer Jeff Davis gives some clues for that.
In the midseason finale "Riders on the Storm," Stiles finally reunited with his friends and the Wild Hunt was destroyed. The trio is going on separate ways to college. Scott will be going to UC Davis in California. Lydia is going to MIT while Stiles will be pursuing a pre-FBI program at George Washington University.
Romance, Awkward Romance
Davis didn't divulge much about what will happen with Stiles and Lydia's romance from here on. He described the final kiss as something to do with friendship and romance. "Where someone finally says 'I love you' after it's been boiling up inside for years," Davis told TV Line. Well, six years to be exact.
Speaking of romance, Stiles and Lydia's lip lock wasn't the only romantic scene in the last episode. Melissa and Argent's kiss was more of a shocker. Now Scott's mother and his ex-girlfriend's father are an item. How awkward is that? Davis commented their romance will get even more awkward in "Teen Wolf" season 6B. "We love awkward romances, inspired by my own life."
From Teen Wolf To Man-Wolf
The EP also revealed how the plot will go on in "Teen Wolf" season 6B as the high school chapter closes and the teens, maybe they should not be called teens anymore, moves along on separate paths. Davis commented that in "Teen Wolf" season 6B, Scott and his friends will be outsiders again in their new environments. "Scott and his supernatural friends become pariahs once again. They're feared and hunted. It's very much a season of fear," he said.
In a separate interview with Entertainment Weekly, Davis explained "Teen Wolf" season 6B will feature Scott's transition an "innocent kid to the leader of a supernatural underground, Beacon Hills," maturing from teen wolf to man wolf. He added they will explore one of Scott's greatest predicament. Will he be able to leave Beacon Hills to have a life of his own or will he be its forever protector?
More Dark Horror
He also teased there would be more dark horror coming as the series returns in summer. Even with the Wild Hunt gone, it will be related to the mystery the heroines will have to face next. He added that a new danger will keep the three in Beacon Hills for a bit longer. "Our inspiration was H.P. Lovecraft, so you're going to be seeing a lot of dark horror in the next season. We have some really disgusting stuff coming up," he added.
Meanwhile, Davis said it is not yet confirmed if Dylan O'Brien will be appearing in "Teen Wolf" season 6B. The actor has his commitments with the "Maze Runner" franchise. His latest injury might also affect his availability for the final 10 episodes of "Teen Wolf."
