Overwatch Update: Blizzard Bans Thousands Of Hackers That Used Aimbots And DDoS Attacks

Blizzard is known to drop the hammer for those players who are continually using exploits to their games. Recently, the company revealed in a forum post that they have done it again. Banning thousands of Overwatch players for cheating in the game. Based on the report, most of these players are using illegal hacks such as aimbots and DDoS attacks.

According to the report from Game Rant, Blizzard initially promised their Overwatch fans that they will take serious action to those players who are cheating in the game, via banning them permanently. Meanwhile, there are lots of players around the globe that had been previously banned. However, it seems like the biggest offender is South Korea, where Blizzard forced to ban tens of thousands of players for doing unauthorized activities.

Based on the forum post of the company's South Korean message board, they have banned more than 20,000 South Korean Overwatch players for using illegal hacks. This massive ban occurs weeks after Blizzard announced that they have banned 10,000 South Korean players for a similar reason.

Meanwhile, Blizzard's battle on keeping the South Korean Overwatch community cheat-free looks like a losing battle. Since any kind of hacks especially aimbots are widespread in the South Korean version of the game. The report also mentions that some of these banned accounts might be done by the same people just by simply buying a new copy of the game.

On the other hand, Blizzard is trying their best to stop these exploits. Beyond banning the accounts, there is not much a company can do in this situation. Furthermore, there is a huge possibility that disappointed South Korean players might stop playing the game if these cheating would not stop.

Overall, Blizzard is doing a great job on keeping these displeased South Korean fans active through constantly releasing updates which add new contents to the game. So far, there are lots of new addition that Blizzard has released for the game so far including the brand new map called Oasis and the recent Year of the Roster event which brings festive-themed cosmetics.
