It has been 10 months since the season 3 finale but half a decade has passed in New Orleans. "The Originals" season 4 will pick up after a five-year time jump. The series also released an intense teaser promising the dead will rise again in the upcoming season.
"The Originals" season 3 finale left off as Klaus (Joseph Morgan) was imprisoned and Marcel became the new ruler of New Orleans. Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and her daughter Hope, are the only remaining members of the Mikaelson family with Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Freya (Riley Voelkel) Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) still unconscious.
The new trailer for "The Originals" season 4 via TV Line shows Klaus in chains, still in prison while Marcel wields his new-found power as the new ruler. He has completely taken the control of the city from the Mikaelsons and he plans to continue it this way. "We've managed to keep our monsters buried, and now we've got to make sure they stay buried," the teaser narrates.
Meanwhile, Hayley is doing everything to reunite his family. The teaser shows her experimenting, trying to find a cure for each member of the Mikaelsons and she said she is close to getting them back. She also finds the coffin with vampire Elijah sleeping on it. However, this will make him at odds with Marcel. He will do things to get in her way. In prison, Marcel came to visit Klaus taunting him. "New Orleans, the city you like to say you built, it's mine," he said.
But the biggest shocker in the new teaser is the comeback of a dead character. The teaser promised "the dead will rise again" in "The Originals" season 4. There are speculations the statement refers to Camille. In the video, Klaus cries out for Camille in his cell and suddenly, she appeared behind him. Of course, it's likely just a hallucination on the part of Klaus considering his mental state after five years of prison time and torture. However, it might also be a sign of Cami's comeback. "The Originals" season 4 will premiere on Friday, March 17 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
