2018 Lamborghini Urus Model Testing Caught On A Motorway In Denmark

Lamborghini is said to reveal its game-changer product this year and because of that, the company is about to become bigger than it’s ever been since it was founded in 1963. The development of the firm will be driven by the addition of a luxurious and high-performance SUV previewed by the Lamborghini Urus concept at the 2012 edition of the Beijing Auto Show. Many people predicted that the brand will be able to sell at least 3,500 examples of the off-roader annually.

Meet The 2018 Lamborghini Urus Model

As reported by CarAdvice, the rumored design of the production of the Lamborghini Urus seems to stay true in terms of the shape and original concept car. The production of one of the most luxurious vehicles looks like it will feature a larger headlight unit, a drastically different front-faced fascia design and a much deeper rear bumper setup. Earlier this week, Lamborghini’s CEO, Stefano Domenicali, sat down for an interview and confirmed a few details about the upcoming crossover.

According to Domenicali, Lamborghini is “for sure” sticking with the model name Urus since it graced the concept car back in 2012. He also said that the production of the Urus model will begin in April of this year. Given that Lamborghini is entering a new market segment and has only recently upgraded its Sant’Agata Bolognese factory, an early output will all be “pre-series models” to train not only line workers but as well as the dealers and after-sales network.

Aside from the said revelations, Domenicali also confirmed that the Urus is designed to go off-road and it will have selectable modes geared for “ice, snow, stones and sand”. The upcoming Lamborghini crossover will also be the first of the company's hybrid car. Grayed to be Urus’ second drivetrain offering, Domenicali didn’t give any hint on their timeframe for the Urus hybrid’s availability.

Once the production is up to its full speed, Lamborghini predicted that it will make around 3,500 models of Urus crossovers annually, with the output of the Huracan and Aventador sports cars which is also limited to a total of 3,500 per year. Even if the Urus will make its debut and go into production this year, we presumably won’t see Urus enter any local showrooms until the year 2018. But Domenicali said that if they have the concrete timeframe, he will definitely share it to all.

Spy Photos Caught The 2018 Lamborghini Urus In Denmark

Since the all new Lamborghini Urus model of SUV has been confirmed, many spy photographers have caught one pre-production model testing on a motorway in Denmark. The prototype of the Lamborghini car was spotted for the first time by a reader from a local website called the Pro-Street, which has more of the images leaked. It was the first time that the shape of the new vehicle in production trim was confirmed, thanks to the spy photos.

Additionally, as anticipated by many, the Lamborghini vehicle is a little bulkier compared to the rakish concept. According to MotorAuthority, the spy images also appears that the all new Urus model will have lost the concept's pumped fenders, but at least the Countach-style wheel arches remain. Lastly, the engine will be the automaker's first turbocharged V8.
