Nokia launched the entry-level Windows Phone 8 (WP8)-powered handset earlier this year and it has gained a lot of popularity recently. Let's see the top five reasons why the handset is worth a buy.
Operating System
The Nokia Lumia 520 runs on the Windows Phone 8 operating system, which was released in the second half of 2012. WP8 has slowly but steadily gained popularity in the smartphone space. Many users want to get taste of how the operating system works but there are only a handful of WP8 smartphones and not all of them are affordable. With Nokia Lumia 520 being budget-friendly, coupled with the latest OS this may become a deciding factor for many smartphone customers to buy the handset.
Price
The Nokia Lumia 520 is the entry-level WP8 smartphone available at a pocket-friendly price. The handset is the cheapest WP8 smartphone currently available on the market. U.S. retailer Expansys is selling the handset for $224.99. In India, online retailer Flipkart is selling the phone for Rs. 9,999 (approximately $184) and the handset has been announced for Canada but no pricing has been revealed.
MS Office
Many smartphone owners use MS Office in their day-to-day lives, either on their portable devices or on their home/office PC. The Nokia Lumia 520 is pre-loaded with the MS Office app, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. You can now type out a note on Word or key in figures on Excel to track your finances on the go.
Display And Touch Screen
If you thought the top-end Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 were the only ones to boast a touchscreen that "detects bare skin and gloves," then you are wrong. The entry-level Lumia 520 with its 4-inch super-sensitive touchscreen ensures that "you can even use it when wearing gloves or with your fingernails." So typing, chatting and surfing is easier and more convenient, even with your gloves on.
Changeable Colored Covers
There is a wide variety of smartphones on the market. However, sometimes it may get a bit difficult to pick the right color to suit your personality. With the Nokia Lumia 520, consumers can choose from the collection of available changeable covers with the colors red, yellow, cyan, black and white.
