Starz Has Confirmed The Show's Premiere
Starz has confirmed recently that "Outlander" season 3 will have its premiere this coming September 2017. However, no exact date was revealed by the Lionsgate-owned network. According to Carmi Zlotnik, President Starz Programming, they have some reasons why the show's launch date was scheduled this fall.
Reasons Why The Premiere Of "Outlander" season 3 Was Delayed
Zlotnik said that they feel it is vital to give the production of "Outlander" season 3 its required time and number of episodes so that they can tell the "Voyager" story in its entirety. She added that the book has an immense scale and that they feel the fans need the best of the show. This will only be possible if they launch the show in September, she added.
Season 3 Will Have 13 Episodes
There will be a total of 13 episodes in "Outlander" season 3. Some of these episodes will feature scenes taken in South Africa and Scotland. Those that were taken in South Africa will portray scenes for Caribbean locales which were included in "Voyager," the third "Outlander" novel of Gabaldon. The last five episodes of the hit TV series will be shot in South Africa.
Filming Is Now Going On In South Africa
Currently, film production is now going on in South Africa. Avid fans of who are waiting for their first peek of "Outlander" season 3 will get their chance on the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con event this summer. Apparently, Starz will provide the fans with the official teaser trailer for the upcoming season in this event.
Opening Episode Will Show Claire's Challenges
According to the showrunners, "Outlander" season 3 will show the difficulties suffered by Claire upon her return to 1948. She's carrying the child of Jamie, and her marriage to Frank is disintegrating. What will happen from there, the fans will witness when they tune into the show's premiere come September.
