Samsung has some good news for Galaxy device users because soon they will be able to use their phone's fingerprint sensor to unlock nearly any Windows 10 PC. This new feature called "Samsung Flow app" will allow Galaxy device owners to unlock Windows machines using their own smartphone's fingerprint sensor, or by simply entering a "pattern." It's a feature Samsung initially introduced last year but is only exclusive for the Galaxy TabPro S.
Samsung Flow App Lets You Unlock Your Windows 10 PC
Samsung replied to a consumer's query on Google Play about the availability of that app and the company confirmed that the release of Samsung Flow app for all Windows 10 PCs is after the next major Windows update, which is expected to come early this April, as pointed out in a report of a source. Looking at the timeline, it appears the Windows 10 Creators Update will bring support for the feature. The app also lets users check their smartphone notifications, transfer and share contents, reply to notifications, and share app activity from the paired smartphone.
Samsung Flow And Apple's Continuity App Provide Similar Functions
Moreover, Samsung Flow has also been compared with Apple's Continuity feature on iOS and OS X Yosemite ever since its release as both provide similar functionality and target to get rid of the hassle that users have to face while switching between their devices. Furthermore, Samsung Flow uses Bluetooth to show the device's availability and then makes use of Wi-Fi or Bluetooth but it would depend on whether both devices are on the same network or not to allow communication between the devices.
