Niantic CEO, John Hanke, recently confirmed that a gym re-work would be the next big thing in Pokemon GO. It seems like 2017 is a great year for Pokemon GO as Niantic promised to offer three major updates throughout the year. With the arrival of Gen 2 patch, players should expect a bigger chunk of updates coming to the game soon.
According to Pokemon GO Hub, fans have started to complain regarding the current Gym network. They said that it has become repetitive and boring as time passes. Furthermore, some issues that the Gyms also have is that players are consistently seeing similar Gym Defenders worldwide. Meanwhile, others are just getting tired of these Gyms.
With the recent confirmation from John Hanke, this could be great news for those fans who are fed up with the current system. Meanwhile, there are many ways on how to make the Gyms more exciting such as bringing some varieties to it. However, Hanke has not yet revealed further details regarding the subject aside from stating more incentives and rewards during his interview.
Otakukart mentions that some players are throwing their own suggestions all over the forums and social media and some of them hope that Niantic could hear it out. Overall, there's a lot of expected future contents in Pokemon GO as it grows bigger and bigger. Apparently, there is a great potential that all of these can be catered throughout the year.
In addition, Hanke discussed about the problem on GPS spoofers. The CEO said that players are not at fault if they can use these unauthorized tools that are available publicly. Meanwhile, Hanke confirmed that they felt that it is their responsibility to take on these issues to ensure a fair playing environment amongst the players.
On other news, the game is currently running its Pokemon Day Event with a recent increase spawn of Partichu, the special Party Hat Pikachu. The event will end this coming March 6 at 1 PM PST.
