Godzilla Vs King Kong Teased In 'Kong: Skull Island;' More MonsterVerse Movies Coming In 2019 And 2020

An epic fight is coming to MonsterVerse. The post-credit scenes of the latest King Kong movie "Kong: Skull Island" teased the fight between two giant monsters -- Godzilla and King Kong. "Kong: Skull Island" is scheduled to premiere on April 10.

"Kong: Skull Island" is the second movie of the MonsterVerse franchise, a shared fictional cinematic universe centered on monster films featuring Godzilla and King Kong. The movie serves as a prequel film to the first MonsterVerse movie, "Godzilla" (2014).

Set in 1973, the movie follows a secret organization named Monarch. They find a new species in a mysterious island -- a giant monstrous ape named Kong. The crew plans an expedition and they were caught in the middle of the survival battle of Kong and other monsters on the island. Some members of the crew begin to see that Kong might be worth saving.

MonsterVerse's third movie and the sequel to "Godzilla" 2014, "Godzilla: King of the Monsters," is reported to be bringing other monsters including King Ghidorah, Rodan, and Mothra. Now, it looks like King Kong is going to be added to the mix.

The said post-credit scenes hinted the upcoming battle between Godzilla and King Kong. In the clip, according to Comicbook, Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson's characters are in the interrogation room, being interviewed after surviving in the events in "Kong: Skull Island." Representatives of Monarch then came out behind the glass to reveal the nuclear blast made by Godzilla and cave painting of the other monsters.

"Godzilla: King of the Monsters" is scheduled to begin filming in Atlanta in June. The movie is set to premiere on March 22, 2019. Meanwhile, a fourth movie of the Legendary's MonsterVerse "Godzilla vs. Kong" is currently in development. The film is scheduled to be released on May 29, 2020.
