Five New Amazon Pilots Coming On March 17

Five new series are coming to Amazon Video this Spring. This includes half-hour pilots; “The Legend of Master Legend,” “The New V.I.P.’s” and “Budding Prospects” as well as one-hour pilots; “Oasis,” and “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” will debut on March 17. The new shows would be available in the US, UK, Austria, Germany and Japan.

‘The Legend of Master Legend’

This is a dark comedy revolving around a homemade hero, Frank Lafount, also known as Master Legend. Aside from defending Las Vegas, he needs to cater to the demands of his family which will prove to be more complicated than catching criminals. His family does not see him as a hero at all.

‘The New V.I.P.’s’

“The New V.I.P.’s” is Amazon’s first ever adult animated comedy show. It will follow the misadventures of low-level employees of a big corporation. After accidentally murdering their boss, they gain control of the company and start running it by themselves.

‘Budding Prospects’

Set in 1983, this story follows three city boys who move from San Francisco to a rural area, Mendocino, to grow marijuana. Their big expectations will be crushed as they arrive in a town in the middle of nowhere with the harsh environment. They had to face the town’s menacing law enforcement as well as rats, mosquitos, snakes and noisy neighbors.

‘Oasis’

This show is based on Michel Faber’s hit novel “The Book of Strange New Things.” With the mission of establishing a new colony in a far-away planet, a minister is sent into outer space. However, he will discover something that will put his faith and life to a test.

‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’

This follows the story of Miriam “Midge” Maisel. She lives a perfect life with everything she wanted; a perfect husband, two children, and an elegant, comfortable home. That is until she discovers a talent that will shake her world upside down -- she enters the world of stand-up comedy.

Amazon customers are urged to stream and review the pilots to help choose the next original series to be made available to Prime members. “Pilots continue to be the best way to take risks, find voices and evolve the art form of television,” Joe Lewis, Head of Comedy, Drama & VR, Amazon Studios, said in a press release via Spoiler TV. “We’re excited about these new worlds, characters, and filmmakers. We’re looking forward to another Amazon Pilot Season and more great customer feedback.
