Give the Persona 5 cast some new threads by picking up the downloadable content (DLC) that will launch with the game. The upcoming role-playing game will bring in some new and creative elements to the franchise while staying true to the overall theme of the series.
Persona 5 DLC References Previous Games In The Series
With the upcoming title launching in less than a month, publisher Atlus has shared the details of the many DLC that the game will have. According to GameSpot, most of these items will consist of costumes and background music. Moreover, the bonus content actually pays homage to previous games from the series with the exception of Catherine.
To begin with, the first bundle is free and is called the swimsuit set. Other bundles include costumes from characters in previous Persona games, which spans from the first title up to the Dancing All Night spin-off. Finally, characters can even dress up as the cast of Catherine, which is another game also published by Atlus.
Steal Hearts In The Upcoming Role-Playing Game
That aside, The Verge reports that the upcoming game puts players in the life of a new student in high school. After a recent turn of troublesome events, he was transferred over to Tokyo and lives with a less-than-enthusiastic cafe owner. From then on, the protagonist meets other students whom he becomes friends with and they discover the power to venture between worlds and "steal" people's hearts.
This is where the main title comes into play as the heroes have the power to summon demon-like figures called "personas" during fights. While the protagonist can stock up to a certain number of these creatures, his friends will only have access to one each. Furthermore, the battle system is the typical turn-based combat with some unique features like "Hold up" wherein the cast coerces the enemy to give them an item, money or become the protagonists' persona.
The series has a solid fan base for keeping the traditional Japanese RPG formula as other popular franchises have been tackling different themes and mechanics. Those who are interested in Persona 5 can buy the game for the PS3 and PS4 on April 4.
