Nintendo had recently teased the inclusion of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch during an interview. In line with this, will these characters make it to the potentially updated game?
Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo Switch Hinted During Interview
According to BGR, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Amie had a short interview regarding the debut of their new console. There, he acknowledged the various problems that the hybrid is currently facing and also brought up the topic of streaming services like Amazon Video and Netflix. Furthermore, he also teased that the Smash franchise might be coming to the Switch.
Fils-Amie claims that Nintendo aims to bring over at least one game from their classic franchises on every new platform they release. Since Smash is one of their best-selling franchises, it seems highly likely that they will bring it over their latest system. However, he has yet to share any finer details regarding this potential game.
Potential Characters For The Game
Similarly, Game Rant reports that fans have been waiting for a good number of characters to make their way to the fighting game franchise. With a possible Switch version on the way, this gives Nintendo the chance to bring in some popular characters in the game. To begin with, the Inklings have become somewhat of a face model for Nintendo since their initial debut in Splatoon. Seeing as how they are now controllable drivers in Mario Kart 8, it would be fitting enough for them to be competitors in Smash.
On the other hand, Decidueye seems to be a good pick for this version's latest Pokemon representative. The mysterious owl-like creature has gained a lot of fans for its unique design. The monster could have a different type of move set seeing as how it acts like an archer alongside its various Ghost-type abilities.
There is also the possible inclusion of Shovel Knight who has risen to popularity due to developer Yacht Club Games and Nintendo's support. The game was once a timed exclusive on the Wii U and 3DS and even managed to become a launch title for the Switch. The character would fit right in the cartoony action world of Smash and would even allow players the option of choosing either its male or female counterpart.
Finally, newcomers Spring Man or Ribbon Girl would be a great way to introduce the Arms characters to fans and consumers. Since Nintendo seems to be focusing on making the title its latest prominent IP, including the two said characters would be a great way to advertise the game. Needless to say, both characters would have some unique move sets with their long and stretchy arms.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch could be a welcome addition to the franchise depending on how Nintendo will tackle the game. For now, fans will have to wait for more information regarding the upcoming game. Alternatively, those who want to play the latest Smash game can get a copy for the 3DS or Wii U.
