Samsung Can't Stop Apologizing For Galaxy S4 Problems

Samsung is having a very rough day stemming from issues with its newly released, flagship Samsung Galaxy S4. The company finally acknowledged that the Samsung Galaxy S4 does have memory issues and has reversed its original stance and will now look for ways to increase available memory for users.

Samsung is not done yet.

The company has also come clean and confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S4 does have Wi-Fi connection problems, again another issue users have been reporting since the smartphone's release in April.

It took being called out on a UK consumer affairs show and getting negative publicity on the show to do something about the Galaxy S4's memory issue, rather than listen to its own customers who have been complaining about the issue. The company now promises to look into ways to increase memory on the Galaxy S4. The company would be smart and follow what Palm did with the Treo 650 back in the day for when it suffered from memory issues. It gave its customers free SD cards to make up for the frustration.

Samsung is doing some damage control and it has now acknowledged that the Samsung Galaxy S4 is having another problem, a Wi-Fi problem on some networks that use D-Link routers. Samsung claims the issue is mostly with D-Link model routers and Samsung recommends users that have D-Link routers to update it to the most current firmware.

D-Link has also confirmed the problem and says it is researching the issue to determine the cause. If you're having this issue the company recommends:

"Customers using the DIR-655 or the DIR-855 could mitigate the problem in the meantime by logging into the web interface and disabling the Wireless Multimedia Extensions (WME, also known as Wi-Fi Multimedia or WMM). "

D-Link router users aren't the only Galaxy S4 owners affected by the issue. A D-Link spokesman told ZDNET that; "The problem has also been reported with wireless routers from other manufacturers."

Samsung is off to a pretty rough start with the Galaxy S4 when it comes to issues affecting the smartphone. The company can still be happy that it sold over 6 million Galaxy S4's in 15 days in the midst of all of this bad news.
