Rumors have surfaced that T-Mobile is launching an LTE-capable version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 on June 5.
The report comes from TmoNews, who claim to have obtained T-Mobile internal screenshots mentioning the release. The new version may also come with some software updates.
The screenshot also mentions the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit, stating that that device will launch on May 29. The Galaxy Exhibit is basically a Galaxy S3 Mini. It is expected to come with a 1GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.1 and a five-megapixel camera, making it a solid mid-range smartphone.
"T-Mobile continues to set itself apart as the Un-carrier by adding more devices to its current lineup, giving customers the best access to a smoking fast network," the screenshot reads. "On June 5, T-Mobile will update its supply of the Samsung Galaxy S3 with a new version that will support LTE. On May 29, the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit will launch in all channels. The Samsung Galaxy Exhibit expands on T-Mobile's impressive collection of Samsung's Galaxy line of devices. This latest smartphone is powered by Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) running on a 1GHz dual core processor."
No information on pricing was included and we'll have to wait for official word from T-Mobile to know for sure if these devices are in fact coming out on said dates. If the reports are accurate, then it could very well be worth waiting for one of these devices rather than grabbing the latest smartphone.
Also, if true, then an official announcement from T-Mobile should be expected within the next couple of days.
