Samsung Galaxy S5 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will likely both have fingerprint scanners

As we reported earlier this week, hot on the trail of the successful release of the Samsung Galaxy S4, it seems there has already been an alleged leak detailing the possible specs of the highly-rumored Samsung Galaxy S5. This information, in combination with the fact that we also know Samsung has become interested in keeping up with Apple's possibly integrating a fingerprint scanner into its upcoming iPhone 5S, brings us to the very likely conclusion that Samsung's next-gen phablet (Galaxy Note 3) and the S5 itself may be coming with this added security feature.

There's still only a preponderance of rumors, speculation and supposed leaks surrounding not only the Samsung Galaxy S5, but also the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which will likely be released some time before October.

The fingerprint scanner that Apple may be integrating into its upcoming mobile devices and that Samsung has been said to be fascinated by at this point too will beef up security on tablets, phablets and phones when it comes to the device lock screen and in-app authentication.

As we previously reported, part of why general consensus points to Samsung's interest in integrating fingerprint scanner technology into its forthcoming devices stems from Sammobile's revelation that signs popped up in the Samsung Galaxy S3's OS which suggest an initial presence of fingerprint scanner technology.

Being that the supposed shadow of such technology left behind on the OS of the Samsung Galaxy S3 can only connote that Samsung is likely working out the kinks for such security features being included in future devices, the likelihood of fingerprint scanners showing up on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 or even Samsung Galaxy S5 is greatly increased.

As iOS news forum iOSDoc suggests in an article published on Tuesday, May 28, being that both Apple and Samsung have been apparently noodling around with fingerprint technology previous to the release of the Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5, we'll probably be seeing the security tech implemented in everything from the iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and completely chimerical Samsung Galaxy S5.

Particularly as we all know that Apple will need to do whatever it can to ensure the iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 are truly the "next big thing" that the Galaxy S4 may (or may not have been), if the company is truly up for fingerprint scanners, Samsung will need to do whatever it can to keep up and remain Numero Uno in the mobile manufacturing game.

What do you think about the idea of fingerprint sensor technology being integrated into the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy S5? A good idea, or yet another tchotchke that is both unnecessary and irritating? Sound off in the comments below!
