Samsung recently launched its much-awaited flagship smartphone, Galaxy S4, and now rumors have started surfacing of the successor, dubbed the Galaxy S5. Samsung, undoubtedly, won't be launching the Galaxy S5 anytime soon but a recent report throws some light at the specifications of the purported device.
Samsung has launched the Galaxy S4 globally and it seems to be on track to attract more and more customers. The company recently reported that it has sold 10 million units of the smartphone globally within one month of release.
The success story of the Galaxy S4 lies in the success of its predecessor the Galaxy S3. Similarly, it will be very important for the Galaxy S4 to leave a positive impression on smartphone lovers and tech gurus to pave the way for the success of the next iteration.
It seems too early to talk about the Galaxy S5; however, some specifications and a few concept images of the Galaxy S5 have already emerged online courtesy 91mobiles (via SmartPhenom).
SmartPhenom reports "Samsung is already working on its successor, ready to empty our pockets again. And the internet is flooded with speculations about the technical specifications and looks of the new handset, allegedly called the Galaxy S V (or S5, whichever you prefer)."
The Samsung Galaxy S5 is expected to be dustproof and water resistant. The Galaxy S5 may run on the upcoming Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. A powerful 2 GHz octa-core processor and a massive 4 GB RAM will power the handset.
The Galaxy S5 is speculated to sport a 5.2-inch display with unknown display resolution and a 3200mAh battery will fuel the handset. The handset will be equipped with a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and will be available in 32/64/128 GB internal storage options.
Unquestionably, Samsung has done very well with the Galaxy S lineup of devices and customers will hope that the company brings even better devices in the future. But if the company launches the successor to the Galaxy S4, we don't know if it will be called the Galaxy S5, or something else.
