'Injustice 2' Update: Black Manta Render Surfaces, Hints At Character's Upcoming Arrival

Nope, the Injustice 2 hype is not fairly done yet. In fact, NetherRealm Studios is still finding ways to keep its momentum afloat. Well, this is thanks to a new render of an upcoming hero named Black Manta. Here is everything about it in a nutshell.

In a report from ComicBook, an artist from NetherRealm Studios by the name of Jessie Graybeal uploaded an interesting and detailed character model of the aforementioned Injustice 2 hero. He made this render available on ArtStation, which is basically a site that allows game artists and/or designers to upload their works or portfolios. Think of it like LinkedIn, only it caters these kinds of professionals.

Basically, Graybeal had the opportunity to work with the video game company in creating the new character of Injustice 2. Black Manta, in its most organic form, is the one players get to see on the Atlantis stage of Aquaman. Whenever they are able to slam an opponent (directly to an in-game stage transition), this character eventually appears.

For weeks, the entire Injustice 2 community has been hoping to see Black Manta in the game. In fact, there were even rumors about its forthcoming arrival, though the studio never confirmed nor deny. However, a report points out that there is a possibility for the character to arrive via the game's next DLC pack.

The first pack arrives with the introduction of three new heroes, namely Red Hood, Starfire, and Sub-Zero. The former, in particular, was introduced by NetherRealm Studios via a trailer, which highlights its gameplay and whatnot. If there is truth to these rumors, then Black Manta could arrive alongside Terra and Black Lightning via the upcoming pack two.

Apparently, though, NetherRealm Studio has yet to confirm these speculations. So, in a sense, these should be taken by Injustice 2 players with a grain of salt. But if these characters indeed do arrive, there is no doubt that they will only make the game a bit more exciting than ever.
