Verizon's Samsung Galaxy S3 finally gets Multi-Window View

Samsung Galaxy S3 owners on U.S. carrier Verizon Wireless will be pleased to learn that the smartphone is receiving a software update, which brings several enhancements to the handset including the much-awaited Multi-Window View features.

"Verizon Wireless is pleased to announce a software update designed to improve the performance of your Samsung GALAXY S III smartphone," notes the carrier's support page.

The feature-packed update has the build JZO54K.I535VRBMD3 and is129.1MB in size. It brings several new features and enhancements users' way, which includes the Multi-Window View feature.

The Multi-Window View feature enables a user to simultaneously use two applications side by side. This feature is already available in the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S4, as well as for Galaxy S3 users in other countries. Users in the U.S. have finally benefited from the feature after a long wait.

What's more, Galaxy S3 users will now also get the Best Shot feature, which picks the best group picture from five burst shots. The update also brings Page Buddy, which gives "popup suggestions" when one connects the device to a headphone or wireless speaker.

The software update also brings better hotspot functionality, access to the home screen without unlocking the smartphone when a Bluetooth headset is connected, Auto Share Shot in S Beam, Samsung Smart Switch support to aid file transfer and more.

According to a GottaBeMobile report "the software is stable and the new features are working as advertised. Of course, it could take a few days for any bugs to manifest themselves so those that are weary are likely going to want to hold off for a few days before installing the new software."

The complete changelog can be viewed here on the Verizon Wireless support page. The update, per Verizon takes 5 to 7 minutes to download and the same time to install. Therefore, ensure that your smartphone has at least 30 percent to 50 percent battery charge.
