Niantic announced a couple of days ago that they will be selling tickets for the upcoming Pokemon GO real-world even called Pokemon GO Fest. The latter is set to take place in Chicago and will work as an avenue for fans to meet and greet. Interestingly, the event's tickets quickly sold out in just a short period of time.
According to VG247, the tickets to Pokemon GO Fest sold out in just half an hour following Niantic's release online. These were on sale last Monday, but were quickly acquired by the fans of the hit mobile game. Believe it or not, they were all gone in just a matter of minutes.
Express reports that the aforementioned event will kick off sometime in July. There will be a bunch of activities for players and fans alike to enjoy. This includes an increase in Pokemon encounters, which refer to pocket monsters' significant increase in appearance. There will even be creatures that will be made available for the first time in Grant Park, the location of the event.
Moreover, Pokemon GO Fest will offer some interesting challenges and rewards. Players will have to work alongside other trainers in the park in order to surpass challenges. And when they do, rewards and/or prizes will be given to them. Niantic did not further comment on the specifics of the rewards, but is expected to do so in the next few weeks.
Forbes, on the other hand, reports that other Pokemon GO events will go live in Europe. These will be unleashed together with the so-called Fest. However, the latter is deemed as the premier event of all; hence it appears to be the only event with tickets required. Meanwhile, the studio announced the changes coming to the game's gym system, thus was closed for remodeling. They did not reveal, however, what changes these will be. This is something that players will just have to look forward to.
