OnePlus 5 Review: Smartphone Uses The Same Display Panel As The OnePlus 3T

OnePlus is claiming its new flagship as the perfect smartphone throughout its every detail. With what the Chinese tech firm has done with the design of its OnePlus 5, indeed, it is really a great mobile device. And now, things about the smartphone get even more interesting because according to a report, OnePlus uses literally the same display panel with the OnePlus 3T.

After a number of unofficial leaks and rumors, as well as official teasers, over the past weeks, OnePlus has finally uncovered its latest flagship smartphone. According to Android Headlines, the OnePlus 5 will go on sale globally starting June 27 with a goal to replace the OnePlus 3T.

Now, the question is if the OnePlus 5 really worth the title as the Chinese vendor's "flagship killer" after the 3T that was launched last year. While it’s kind of difficult to say anything about the OnePlus 5 today, we can constantly take a general look at the smartphone’s spec sheet in order to see how it compares with its predecessor.

The display of OnePlus 5 is being reported as nearly the same as the inside the OnePlus 3. For the record, the OnePlus 3T comes with a 5.5-inch Optic AMOLED display together with the Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. On the other hand, the OnePlus 5 comes with the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 that serves as the protection of the smartphone from scratches and minor impacts.

As reported by Phone Arena, OnePlus hasn't so much reached one of the most significant components of a smartphone between ages, even at least on the hardware of its mobile devices. And as a result, the OnePlus 5 has a newly-added support program for the wide-gamut DCI-P3 color space. This is the same support all the users of iPhone 7 get. However, it's also worth noting that even if the display panel itself hasn't changed from the OnePlus 3T, the glass covering of the smartphone has. OnePlus now offers the Gorilla Glass for the OnePlus 5, which is an upgraded variant of protection compared to the 3T's Gorilla Glass 4 display.
