Overwatch Latest News: Blizzard Overhauls Highlights System And Loot Boxes

The latest news indicates that Overwatch will overhaul its Highlights system as part of its upcoming update. There will also be some changes on how the Loot Boxes in the game will function. However, Blizzard has not made any commitment about the release of this update yet.

Gamers Can Test These Changes Now

Furthermore, the latest news also suggests that these upcoming changes are already live on the Public Test Realm. That means gamers who want to get a taste of the changes in Overwatch can try them out even before they are released. Since the game developer has not confirmed any release date yet, they should not pass up this chance.

Jeff Kaplan, game director has also shared some information about the contents of the upcoming Overwatch update. He indicated that while the focus of this update is the Highlights system, the biggest changes will be on how the Loot Boxes will function. Kaplan says that the adjustments they made on these items are very significant.

Blizzard Has Drastically Reduced The Duplicates

The director revealed that in this upcoming Overwatch update, they have drastically reduced the rate of duplicates that gamers will get out of the Loot Boxes. If this is the case, this update would really overhaul the former system. As it is, many fans are reportedly unhappy with the duplicate system currently existing in the game.

However, there will be some consequences for overhauling the current Loot Box system of Overwatch. For instance, gamers will not be able to get Credits that are normally given when they receive an item that they won. To compensate for this, Blizzard says the amount of Credits gamers will get from Loot Boxes will be increased. This will ensure that the gamers' credit intake will still be the same, if not more.

Gamers Can Save Five Game Highlights

In the Highlights system, the latest update of Overwatch will enable gamers to save up to five highlights of the game that they have just played. They can save it for up to 24 hours until they play another game. More of the game's latest news will be posted on this website as it happens so fans need to keep themselves posted.
