LG V30: Glass Back, Wireless Charging And Everything Else We Know So Far

The LG V30 is fastly becoming one of the most anticipated phablets this year after a number of rumors have sprouted suggesting it will come with some premium features. The latest somewhat confirms previous rumors that the LG V30 will have a glass back and support for wireless charging.

LG's current flagship smartphone, the G6, comes with a glass rear so it is highly likely that LG will do the same with the V30 since both are flagship devices. The glass back coincides with other rumors indicating that the phablet will have an IP68 rating. The source of this new rumor, "OnLeaks" also suggested that the LG V30 will have wireless charging capabilities.

Rumors suggest that the LG V30 will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 processor. It is also speculated that the LG phablet will have three variants with regards to built-in storage - 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB. The LG V30 will also come with an OLED display instead of an LCD screen. Such news hints at the possibility that the LG V30 will have a curved and bezel-less display. Android Authority also reported that the LG V30 will have a traditional 3.55mm jack, a 3,200 mAh battery, and ESS Quad DAC support.

The LG V30 is also expected to come with a fingerprint scanner which may be located at the back. Previous LG devices have the fingerprint scanner situated at the back so it is unlikely that the LG V30 will go the way of the iPhone 8 which is trying to integrate its Touch ID sensor in the display.

The LG V30 is also expected to pack four cameras as early rumors indicated. The phablet will have a dual camera set-up both at the front and rear of the device. Some speculate that each dual camera will have one normal camera while the other will likely be a wide-angle camera.

As GSMArena reported, the LG V30 will likely be announced in August around the time the IFA 2017 event opens in Berlin, Germany. Some say LG will make the announcement the day before the event which will fall on August 31.

The LG V30 will likely cost around 800,000 KRW according to "ETNews." That's equivalent to around $700. This will probably be the price for the 64GB version of the LG V30.
