Yooka-Laylee Latest News: First Major Update Goes Live For PC; Adds New Camera Mode, Fixes Assorted Bugs

Yooka-Laylee's first major update for PC is now live. Also included in this latest update are a new optional camera mode and a number of bug fixes. Prior to this update, fans were experiencing some issues with the game's camera feature.

Camera Will Be Fully Controlled By Gamers

As reported, the optional camera mode of Yooka-Laylee's first major update will give complete control over its positioning to gamers. Apparently, gamers are complaining that the camera is "uncooperative." However, the problem is not enough to induce them to abandon the game. It now appears that the developer has heard their complaints and addressed the issue.

Here Are The Other Changes And Fixes

There are other fixes that this first major update of Yooka-Layle will implement. One of the changes gives players the ability to skip cutscenes. Another change coming up is the introduction of an option for shorter voice effects that sound gibberish. This update will also enable them to add music to the pause menu.

The Yooka-Layle update will also allow a quicker read-through of dialogue. Other significant changes in this update include improved flying controls, an added restart option in the pause menu during Kartos Challenges and arcade games and a faster rate of scrolling through Totals Menu.

A new 'moves' section is also added to the pause menu, with image guide. Hivory Towers now have added signposts that can help players make their way in exploring new worlds. The Yooka-Laylee first major update also added hitbox improvements and minecart controls along with new visual effects.

PS4 And Xbox One Updates Are Coming Soon

Unfortunately, this Yooka-Laylee first major update is only good for PC. According to the game developer, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owners will have their updates "in the coming weeks." There is also a plan for a Nintendo Switch version of the game. It will include all the updates that are mentioned above.
