Samsung is looking to debut several new smartphones in the Galaxy series later this month, including the Galaxy S4 Mini. The company has already launched the 6.3-inch Galaxy Mega phablet, followed by the 5-inch Galaxy S4 and now, it is now getting ready to launch the 4.3-inch Galaxy S4 Mini. Let’s take a look at how these smartphones stack up against each other.
The Samsung Galaxy Mega was launched in April and was a pretty big deal, literally. The Galaxy Mega features a 6.3-inch 1280 x 720 FTF display, a 1.7GHz dual-core processor, runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, is available with 8GB or 16GB of internal storage, 1.5GB of RAM, microSD expansion slot with support for up to 64GB cards, an 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera, 4G LTE radio (available on specific model), Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and a removable 3,200 mAh battery. The Mega probably should have been called the Galaxy S4 Mega because it looks nearly identical to Samsung’s flagship smartphone but with a much larger display. The Mega is as big as it gets in Samsung’s smartphone lineup.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is Samsung’s follow-up to its game changing Galaxy S3. The Galaxy S4 does not stray from the Galaxy 3 form factor. Samsung decided to focus on the internals this time around and is offering a very powerful and feature-rich smartphone to take on the iPhone and other competitors. The Galaxy S4 includes a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD display, runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, a 1.9GHz quad-core processor, is available with 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, microSD expansion slot with support for up to 64GB microSD cards, a 13-megapixel rear camera with auto flash and zero shutter lag, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, 4G LTE radio, infrared LED universal remote control and a removable 2,600mAh battery. Samsung is already off to a great start - it recently announced it has sold over 10 million Galaxy S4 units since its launch.
The Galaxy S4 Mini is Samsung’s upcoming smaller version of the Galaxy S4. The Galaxy S4 Mini looks nearly identical to both the Galaxy Mega and Galaxy S4 but comes in a smaller package. The Galaxy S4 mini features a 4.3-inch 540 x 860 Super AMOLED display, runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, a 1.7GHz dual-core processor, 8GB of internal storage, 1.5GB of RAM, microSD expansion slot with support for up to 64GB microSD cards, an 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, 4G LTE radio, and a 1900 mAh removable battery. Samsung is expected to officially announce the Galaxy S4 Mini at an event it is holding on June 20. Check out the video below to see just how big and small all three Galaxy smartphones really are.
