George R.R. Martin Hints At Publishing ‘The Winds of Winter’ This Year, Announces Attendance In Upcoming Worldcon 75

As fans wait earnestly for the release of “The Winds of Winter”, author George R.R. Martin has updated his blog and revealed hints of the sixth novel’s progress. There are reports that the said writer is aiming to publish the said book within this year.

George R.R. Martin has released updates on his life and work, telling fans that he has finally gotten some time off to straighten things out. The author also revealed that he will be moving to a new workplace because his old place has a broken roof that cannot be fixed anymore. Moreover, Martin gave subtle hints that “The Winds of Winter” will most likely be published within this year.

Martin revealed that there is a big trip coming up and he will be visiting a lot of places, even countries. He said that he will be attending meetings with his publisher and agent in August, which gives fans hope that they might actually see “The Winds of Winter” published sometime this year. In addition, Martin also said that he will be heading off to Helsinki, Finland to attend this year’s Worldcon, which is officially referred to as the 75th World Science Fiction Convention or “Worldcon 75”.

The Worldcon is an annual convention of the World Science Fiction Society (WSFS) and each year, they gather various figures that have worked in the genre of science fiction and fantasy. Martin will most likely reveal more details and even much-awaited spoilers about “The Winds of Winter” at the upcoming Worldcon. Fans have been waiting for years for Martin to publish the said novel but he has been put it off several times after taking on various projects.

Aside from hinting the progress of “The Winds of Winter”, Martin announced that the five successor shows of “Game of Thrones” are moving forward and that even the finale of the said HBO series is almost done. He also revealed that another one of his works, “Wild Cards” might just be picked up for a television adaptation series. “Wild Cards” is science fiction superhero novels series worked on by Martin and Melinda M. Snodgrass.
