Meet The Smallest DJ Controller That Can Sit On Your Laptop

Numark has announced the smallest full-featured DJ controller, the DJ2GO2. The DJ controller is designed to fit a standard laptop and built to not take up any additional space during a performance or practice. For setting it up, you just have to plug in headphones and connect it with speakers through the master 1/8" output.

Numark's DJ2GO2 controller for Serato DJ is a compact two-channel controller that has two jog-wheels, pitch faders, transport controls, and four performance pads. The smallest DJ controller also has a sound card onboard and is USB bus-powered, Digitaldjtips reported.

Numark DJ2GO2 packs a lot of crucial functionality in comparison to other smaller controllers, similar to the Hercules DJ Control Compact. The DJ2GO2 sports a master gain, crossfader, 8 cue, a headphone output, point buttons, and the ability to browse and load songs.

The DJ controller from Numark also has jog wheels. However, users have reported that sometimes tiny jog wheels often prove frustrating instead of being useful, especially without knowing if they have any tension. There's also a pad mode which provides access to performance controls usually found on larger DJ controllers.

Even though the DJ2GO2 is technically optimized for use with Serato DJ software, the controls on the controller can be mapped with other DJ software as well. Numark DJ2GO2 is a great portable option that would work at smaller events with tiny DJ booths like for practicing and preparing DJ sets while traveling. Since it's not cost or size-prohibitive, to have as a backup for "just in case" situations, as reported by The Verge.

DJs can play their blends, mixes, and transitions on the fly. You can also control Numark DJ2GO2 with quick access to your cues, auto/manual loop, and sampler. The DJ2GO2 will be sold at a price tag of just $79.00. The smallest DJ controller is said to be available starting this fall at retail stores.
